SUMMARY:The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College Baton Rouge Chapter to host the Spelman College Glee Club
DESCRIPTION:The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College Baton Rouge Chapter is excited to host the Spelman College Glee Club in concert after a three-year hiatus! Since 1924\, the Glee Club has maintained a reputation for choral excellence and performs a repertoire that includes selections from world cultures\, commissioned works\, sacred and secular choral literature Negro spirituals\, and music by African American composers. Internationally\, the Glee Club has traveled to Canada\, Brazil\, Italy\, and most recently Portugal for the 2019 Terras sem Sombra Festival. The concert will be March 11\, 2023\, 5:00 pm\, at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church\, 185 Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive\, Baton Rouge\, LA. This concert is free to the public. Please consider being a donor or sponsor to support these students and ensure that they can participate in this multi-state tour.
